'I was delighted when I was approached to style a Melbourne wedding. The soon-to-be bride's sister had recommended me, which was such an honour. Arlene, the bride was not your usual Bridezilla - she was laid-back and calm - I loved collaborating with her.
We chose a subtle colour palette of olive green, soft blues and white. We worked together on everything from the catering to the furniture hire. The ceremony and reception were being held at Arlene's sister's all white location house in inner city Melbourne.
Signature Prints in Sydney hand printed some beautiful botanical fabric which I had made up in to cushions and lamp shades.
I designed perspex, laser cut butterflies which I hung in groups from the ceiling. A fantastic local cup-cake bakery made the wedding cup-cakes, and stacked them in tiers, so they looked like a wedding cake - a novel idea, instead of a traditional cake.
I placed blue hydrangea flowers in glass globe fish bowls and had chocolate bars covered in map paper, with guests names attached, to act as favours.
We also had white wooden MARRY ME words laser cut and hung on the wall. I commissioned local artist, Stephen Howkins to make some white plastic, laser cut panels to use as screens, which had a whimsical, lace effect.
The whole scheme was delicate, feminine and stylish - Arlene wore a silk olive green wedding dress, which co-ordinated perfectly with our colour palette.'
